ExtraContent is an open source method for getting additional content into places that most content management systems CMS can't reach.

It was developed by a small innovativer group of RapidWeaver theme developers looking to extend the abilities of RapidWeaver beyond the two content areas typically allowed.

RWT and Josh Lockhart Launch New EC Themes

RWT Stretch themeGary from RWT has recently launched a new ExtraContent enabled theme called Stretch, which, as the name implies, allows users to stretch there ExtraContent in and out of view. With 3 ExtraContent areas, Stretch lets site visitors expose those areas with the click of a button.

RWT is also including two new Stacks with the purchase of Stretch, called the Stretch Stack and the Stretch Image Stack. Check out RWT’s Stretch theme here.

Josh Lockhart ArchetypeJosh Lockhart, a new addition to the ExtraContent ranks, has just launched his latest RapidWeaver creation, Archetype. This theme sports 4 ExtraContent areas, one below the breadcrumb, one each above and below the sidebar content, and above the footer.

Josh has taken a new, forward thinking approach with Archetype, openly supporting CSS 3 and HTML 5 and leaving behind the obsolete browser, IE6. Check out Josh Lockhart’s Archetype theme here.
