Ryan Smith over at RapidWeaver Classroom was awesome enough to make a VERY detailed movie about many aspects of the seyDoggy Gotem theme and ExtraContent. Ryan does an incredibly thorough and level headed job of outlining each ExtraContent area, some nifty tricks with Pluskit from Loghound.com, attaching images with assets and much more.
You might also notice a little promotional deal at the movies intro. You would be wise to take advantage of that kind of offer.

Some really exciting ExtraContent news sprang up over the weekend. First, an ExtraContent-ish sort of theme popped up from Rapid Refills called D Scribe. While Nick, Rapid Refills developer, doesn’t go so far as to call it ExtraContent enabled, it does use similar technology. Nick prefers to call his implementation “Blurbs” instead, but the idea is the same by adding extra content in one place and having it show up in another. Perhaps if we all lean on him a little, he’ll make the implementation common to what we now enjoy in ExtraContent making the experience a familiar one…
Anyhow, you can join the RapidWeaver forum discussion here.
The next ExtraContent enabled theme to pop up over the weekend was Bohemian from RapidWeaver developer extraordinaire, Henk Vrieselaar. Bohemian is an official ExtraContent theme that makes use of 4 ExtraContent areas; one above and below the main content area (useful for blogs, photo albums, contact forms and Kwix pages without much in the way of content options), one above the footer and one in the sidedbar. In addition to ExtraContent Henk has packed this theme full of many other options such as over 30 header options and effects, over 60 background options for various areas of the page, font control, width variations, banner zest integration and much more. Henk has poured a lot into this theme so you owe it to yourself to check it out. Join the discussion on the RapidWeaver forum here.
Today seyDoggy released an update to their Gotem theme, adding one more ExtraContent to allow the insertion of text into the “traditional” sidebar area.
There was numerous requests for the ability for users to add content in their RapidWeaver sites to the “traditional” sidebar area in our Gotem theme.
By default, content added to the sidebar field in RapidWeaver gets added to the area just beside the header image. With the new third ExtraContent area you can now add sidebar content to it’s traditional location along side the main content area.
This tutorial covers how to utilize the new ExtraContent area to get text into the traditional sidebar location.
